Description

Special Required Skills: -Good verbal and written communications skills. -Self starter, motivated and can work unsupervised and under the pressure of a fast-paced startup. -Strong attention to detail, precise technical documenting skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment -Well Structured, organized approach to product development and ability to deliver projects on time. -Good understanding and execution of standard product lifecycle (including requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, production, documentation and post- production support). -Good understanding and application of test-driven coding in an agile environment. -Familiar with Subversion, versioning system. -Good experience with databases and database mapping (MySQL or MSSQL, Hibernate...) -Understands the importance of good software engineering practices such as -Unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, documentation, etc. -Knowledge of web standards, including emerging standards like HTML5 and CSS3 -Knowledge of Gantt Chart, Design Patterns and critical path method; cloud computing is a plus -Practice of problem solving and debugging (through forums (e.g., Nabble, experts exchange, etc..) is a plus -Previous experience with ImageJ, embedded databases and web application frameworks (Spring, Struts..) and coding following Design Patterns is a plus. -Creativity and talent for GUI-design is a big plus. Duties and Responsibilities: -Develop and test Java based application integrating with ImageJ library and communicating with an online database (from/to) and possibly with an embedded database. -Design associated GUI in Java, and associated database (design and optimize). The java application will have extra features such as encryption of data, updates handling, licensing, and customer relationship module. It also involves dealing with images (PDFs and jpegs, and associated communication issues such as compression of images for uploading and downloading, etc.). The java application will be communication to another similar application and to a website (which the other team member will be developing). -Data communication between the two java applications will happen through that website. -Keep routine maintenance of the IT infrastructure, performing tasks such as regular backups, servers’ maintenance and ensure infrastructure security. Education and Experience: MBA/BA in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with strong knowledge of Databases and Algorithms 2-3 years experience in software Development and in Java 3-5 years exp - IF BA graduates
